About me
Viktoria is a PhD student at the Faculty of Informatics at Masaryk University (MU) and an IT architect at centre the CERIT-SC (Center for Education and Research in IT - Scientific Cloud) at MU. Her research interests include optimizing resource utilization for containerized (HPC) workloads via integration of transparent Checkpoint/Restore into advanced scheduling and orchestration. The research happens in the large-scale, multi-tenant, free-of-charge, academic, Kubernetes-based e-infrastructure which accommodates wide varienty of workload types in Czech Republic and the goal is the adaptation of containers for traditional HPC workloads alongside more traditional cloud-native workloads.
Viktoria's work aims to address not only a range of technical challenges, from scalability and performance to resource management but also human aspect challenges — educating researchers, academics and students to embrace modern technologies and helping them move beyond relying on traditional systems simply because those are familiar.
