MONDAY: Maintainer Summit Schedule (Pre-Registration Required)
TUESDAY: CNCF-Hosted Co-located Events Schedule (Pre-Registration Required)
Thursday April 3, 2025 09:03 - 09:15 BST
In this keynote, leaders from end user companies will share how their organization leverages cloud native technologies to tackle real-world challenges, scale efficiently, and drive innovation. Through firsthand insights, you’ll learn key lessons, best practices, and the evolving needs of cloud native adopters.

HSBC
Stephen Connolly will explore HSBC’s journey with Kubernetes, from its early adoption to the development of the Service Hosting Platform, an internal developer platform for API microservices. He’ll share key challenges of running Kubernetes at scale in a global financial institution, including security, compliance, and reliability for millions of retail customers.

PEPTONE
Carlo and Fabio will demonstrate an ensemble generator that predicts structures of proteins that don't fold into a single shape but rather exist in multiple conformations. Running on a Kubernetes cluster that orchestrates workloads across GPU nodes, their system leverages both model and data parallelism to efficiently sample these conformational spaces, opening new possibilities in therapeutic development.

SPOTIFY
Context switching, fragmentation, cognitive load, duplication, dependencies, congestion, more dependencies, changing priorities, and bookmarked spreadsheets as far as the eye can see. While these problems are acute in the early days, they threaten DevEx cultures within growing organizations.

APPLE
Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system that brings powerful generative models to iPhone, iPad, and Mac. To handle computationally demanding requests for Apple Intelligence while prioritizing user privacy, Apple introduced Private Cloud Compute (PCC). This talk will highlight two open source ecosystems that provided foundational building blocks for PCC by discussing the use of gRPC and the Swift programming language.
